Alison Jacoby, MD

Professor

Dr. Alison Jacoby is an obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in the care of women during childbirth. Since joining UCSF in 1997, she has built a diverse career in women’s health, practicing general obstetrics and gynecology, advancing expertise in uterine fibroids and minimally invasive surgery, and now focusing on providing safe, compassionate care for women in labor and delivery.

She is deeply committed to medical education, drawing on her surgical experience to train the next generation of physicians in managing obstetric emergencies. In addition, she is actively engaged in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing maternal safety.

Dr. Jacoby earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
