Why ObGyn: As a first-generation Iranian American, my family’s experiences with migration and maternal health inequities have profoundly influenced my path to medicine. I am drawn to obstetrics and gynecology because it integrates clinical excellence, public health, and advocacy. This specialty lets me build meaningful relationships with patients during pivotal moments in their lives while advancing reproductive autonomy and promoting equitable outcomes through research, education, and systemic change.

Why UCSF: I chose UCSF for its rigorous clinical and academic training, its strong dedication to health equity, and the chance to provide care for the diverse communities of San Francisco. During my time at UCSF I have come across mentors and colleagues who continually encourage me to develop myself as a physician, as an advocate, as an educator, and as a future change maker.
