Gloria Brar, PhD

Gloria Brar has a longstanding interest in the molecular mechanisms that ensure gametogenic success, with her graduate work elucidating the mechanisms by which cohesin are removed in a stepwise manner from meiotic chromosomes and her postdoctoral study providing a map of translation during meiosis. Since its establishment in 2014, her lab has focused on understanding how the regulation of protein synthesis and degradation is regulated during the processes of gametogenesis, often leveraging global approaches and new high throughput technologies to further this goal.
