Why ObGyn: So many parts of health care incorporate patient agency and shared decision-making, but I believe that OBGYN really exemplifies uplifting patient values in their care. I love that our jobs are to understand our patient’s goals and support them in making the best choices for themselves – whether in pregnancy, in contraception, or in cancer care. I treasure our interdisciplinary relationships and enjoy working closes with midwives, nurse practitioners, and our incredible nurses and medical assistants. Plus, I love developing the hands-on skills required on the labor floor, in clinic, and in the operating room.

Why UCSF: From my time at Planned Parenthood, I have always looked up to UCSF for prioritizing patient autonomy, equity, and justice alongside research innovation and clinical excellence. I am constantly inspired by the people I get to work with and grateful to be surrounded by friends, family, and the beauty and fun of the Bay Area.
