Why ObGyn: I am drawn to OB/GYN because it uniquely combines the parts of medicine, I find most meaningful: caring for patients longitudinally, using my hands to perform surgery, and supporting patients through some of the most important moments of their lives. It also gives me the opportunity to pursue my broader passions in public health, advocacy, policy, and research to improve care not just for individual patients, but for entire communities.
Why UCSF: I wanted to train at an institution that would push me to become an excellent clinician while also giving me the opportunity to grow as an advocate and leader. UCSF’s commitment to health equity, advocacy, and global health, along with the opportunity to learn from mentors doing this work, makes it the kind of environment where I know I would thrive.
