Dr. Olga Ramm is a urogynecologist specializing in women’s pelvic floor health and a reconstructive pelvic surgeon with expertise in minimally invasive and robotic techniques. She provides compassionate care to patients with pelvic organ prolapse, urinary or fecal incontinence, complex urinary or rectal fistulas, and surgical complications. Dr. Ramm’s patient-centered approach emphasizes collaboration with other specialists and tailoring treatment plans to align with each individual’s unique needs and preferences. She serves as the director of the UCSF Center for Urogynecology and Women’s Pelvic Health.
Dr. Ramm’s research focuses on advancing the field of urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery. Her areas of investigation include surgical outcomes, birth trauma, care equity, and patient consent, ensuring that her work contributes to both clinical excellence and ethical innovation in patient care.
Dr. Ramm earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital and pursued a fellowship in urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Ramm is deeply committed to surgical education. She has taken on leadership roles in medical training, including serving as program director for the urogynecology and reconstructive pelvic surgery fellowship jointly offered by Kaiser Permanente East Bay and UCSF. Her dedication to shaping the future of urogynecology extends to her work with national organizations, where she has contributed to curriculum development, clinical evaluation, and certification pathways. These include the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, ensuring the next generation of surgeons is equipped with the skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care.
