Why ObGyn: Born under the One Child Policy, I saw firsthand how policies and sociocultural factors influenced reproductive care and women's health. I became an OBGYN to be not only an excellent surgeon and primary care doctor, but also to continue to advocate for patients impacted by disparities in reproductive or gynecologic care.

Why UCSF: As an immigrant, I grew up in San Francisco and knew what a diverse city it was, being home to not only Chinese speaking patients but also Spanish speaking patients. I wanted to receive strong training with co-residents who were passionate about patient advocacy and disparities while being able to provide language-concordant care.
