Why ObGyn: In college, I volunteered at a free clinic that provided sexual health services to the local community – that then led to a two-year stint as a counselor at Planned Parenthood. At both organizations, I saw firsthand how comprehensive, compassionate, accessible reproductive healthcare could transform a patient’s life and felt there was no career more meaningful than OBGYN. I appreciate the opportunity to follow patients throughout all the important reproductive milestones of their lives and find the combination of medical management and surgical management of their care to be extremely engaging and fulfilling.
Why UCSF: UCSF has an incredible reputation for both clinical excellence and unwavering commitment to social justice, especially in regards to family planning and LGBTQ+ health. We also get to train at both an academic and a public hospital setting! And of course, the Bay Area has the most unbeatable views, food, activities, and nature!
