ABOUT ME

I grew up along the US-Mexico Border, in the small town of Nogales, Arizona. Like the city in which I was raised, I am the result of two cultures colliding, and I have continued to gravitate toward dualistic experiences throughout my life: Mexican-American, bilingual, college educated on the East Coast, then medical school on the West Coast. And now I’m eager for the next chapter of my fusion-filled life as a resident in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

To balance out the hard work and long hours in medicine, I use my free time to reconnect with friends and family, explore the natural beauty of the Bay Area, and delight in local culinary creativity, while occasionally experimenting in my own kitchen, with admittedly less success.

The dynamic intersect of medicine and surgery and diversity in Obstetrics and Gynecology is what first appealed to me early on in medical school. What I look forward to at UCSF is the promise of a balanced training, with a commitment to research and clinical excellence, mentorship and community involvement, education and evidence-based practice. I am excited to learn and grow throughout the next four years, providing care to the women of San Francisco alongside current and future leaders in women’s health!
