Here is where the inspiring quality and safety quote would go. Here is where the inspiring quality and safety quote would go.

Nerys Benfield, MD, MPH Vice Chair of Quality & Safety

Here is where we could put some general Quality and Safety content (similar to what's in the hero/header). You could put goals here (or not): Equity, c-section rate from True North board.

Also could say we have a VC of Quality & Safety or whatever else seems to differentiate our program from other ob/gyn programs across the country.

Our Approach to Safety

Patient safety is central to our mission. Our culture of continuous learning regularly brings faculty and trainees together to review patient complications and identify opportunities to improve care.

Our safety program emphasizes cross-disciplinary collaboration, peer review, and a systems-based approach that focuses on solutions. Working closely with patient safety specialists, we translate lessons-learned into meaningful improvements in clinical processes, helping provide safer care for every patient.

Our Approach to Quality Improvement

Quality improvement is an integral part of our clinical care, education, and culture. Using a structured, continuous improvement approach, we evaluate outcomes, implement evidence-based changes, and measure impact to improve patient care.

Training is our Strength

Our work is supported by quality improvement advisors and patient safety specialists, with robust QI training available through UCSF Health.

Many faculty have earned quality improvement (QI) certification and are supported by a dedicated resident QI leader and QI representatives for both obstetrics and gynecology. Together, they lead initiatives that continuously improve patient care and outcomes.

Real people. Real impact.

As a department we bring evidence to the front lines—translating research into action that advances patient care, informs education, shapes policy, protects rights, and improves lives. See Our Impact section in the navigation bar to learn how.
