Residency Program

About Me

My interest in OB/GYN was not the product of a lifelong goal, but rather the result of an appreciation for the marriage between primary care and surgery offered by this profession. Although I felt very passionate about preventative medicine, I was also very intrigued by the art that is surgery and the ability to offer definitive treatment options that would achieve immediate results. Once I realized I could do both as an OB/GYN the answer was clear!

At UCSF I found that I would not only be training with some of the best people in the field of OB/GYN, but I would ultimately be able to dedicate my life to advocating for women’s health and fighting for their reproductive rights. I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging seeing that the spirit of social justice is very alive at this institution and that the passion I have would be able to be exercised constantly.

Originally from the border community of El Paso, TX – Ciudad Juarez, MX, I have seen the barriers to care that affect our most marginalized communities. It is with this knowledge that I am excited to dive into the Bay Area community and learn about similar barriers as well as those that are unique to this area so that I may help tackle them.

In my spare time I enjoy connecting with friends and family. I am an avid traveler, enjoy immersing myself into different cultures, and trying new foods. When the weather is right, I enjoy running outdoors and going for a swim. I am excited for all that San Francisco has to offer and all of the experiences I will create during these coming years.
