Research & Professional Experience

Year

2014

Clinic Volunteer: Worked in the Clínica Pop Wuj in Xela, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala providing primary care to women and children of surrounding villages who are unable to access care in their communities.
2011, 2013 Medical staff at Camp Sweeney: served as junior (2011) and senior (2013) medical staff for a summer camp for diabetic children, caring for campers' day-to-day insulin dosing and their other medical needs.
2006-2010 Research Assistant at the Psychiatry Neuroimaging Laboratory of the Brigham & Women's Hospital: analyzed brain abnormalities in schizophrenia patients using structural and diffusion-weighted MRIs. In particular, compared the differences in morphology of brain structures and the integrity of the axonal paths between these structures.
2006 Student Researcher at Beth Israel Deaconess Cardiac MR Department: Using time-course MRIs of the heart, determined the optimal scanning time window during the cardiac cycle for which motion artifacts of the left atrium would be minimized to assess the success of RF ablation as treatment for chronic atrial fibrillation.
2005 Junior Electrical Engineer at General Electric Healthcare: developed and tested circuitry to improve x-ray acquisition to yield higher quality images of an existing computed tomography system.
