About Me

Why OB/GYN?

I chose obstetrics and gynecology because of the boundless opportunities for advocate for marginalized populations, especially for their reproductive rights. Although this field is not spared from heartbreak, I value unique opportunities to develop intimate relationships with patients, helping them navigate difficult diagnoses. I appreciate the diversity in the scope of services we provide our patients – providing primary care screening, managing triage like emergency medicine, monitoring fetal heart tracings, prepared to provide fetal resuscitation at any time or perform life-saving emergency surgery. Above all, I appreciate the opportunity to counsel patients on stigmatized topics and create space to normalize uncomfortable conversations.

Why UCSF?

I chose UCSF because of its dedication to anti-racism and reproductive justice. It is important to me to train alongside a group of diverse, compassionate, and driven co-residents, fellows, and attendings. Another reason is because of the incredible patients who we serve at the San Francisco General Hospital, the largest safety net hospital in the city where most patients do not speak English as their primary language.

What I do outside of residency?

Catch me trying out new restaurants, exploring neighborhoods near and far, hiking with my corgi, kayaking, propagating plants, reading in my garden, and cooking for my people. I love travelling and scuba diving with sharks!
