About Me

I grew up primarily in a small town in upstate New York and went to college at nearby Cornell University. Though I didn’t grow up wanting to be a doctor, I found my way to medicine via an interest in reproductive and sexual health education fostered through work in consent education in college. This interest only grew after working at Planned Parenthood in the Bay Area – I was so inspired by the people I worked with and the purpose and joy I found within reproductive health care.

Why OB/GYN?

So many parts of health care incorporate patient agency and shared decision-making, but I believe that OBGYN really exemplifies uplifting patient values in their care. I love that our jobs are to understand our patient’s goals and support them in making the best choices for themselves – whether in pregnancy, in contraception, or in cancer care. I treasure our interdisciplinary relationships and enjoy working closes with midwives, nurse practitioners, and our incredible nurses and medical assistants. Plus, I love developing the hands-on skills required on the labor floor, in clinic, and in the operating room.

Why UCSF?

From my time at Planned Parenthood, I have always looked up to UCSF for prioritizing patient autonomy, equity, and justice alongside research innovation and clinical excellence. I am constantly inspired by the people I get to work with and grateful to be surrounded by friends, family, and the beauty and fun of the Bay Area.

Outside of Residency

In my time away from the hospital, I enjoy being outside, cooking with friends and family, working on any and all of the NYT Games, and spending time with my spoiled cat, Moose. In a different life, I’d write professionally – I hope to incorporate my interests in narrative medicine in my future career.
