About Me

Why OB/GYN?

I became interested in OB/GYN during college as an intern at a Planned Parenthood clinic. I was immediately drawn not just to the medical aspect of the care, but also to the complex communication skills required to navigate the nuanced, personal nature of reproductive health. There is so much I’m looking forward to as an OB/GYN: meaningful patient care, advocacy, teaching, operating, life-long learning, and so much more.

Why UCSF?

As a medical student at UCSF, it was very clear to me that the UCSF OB/GYN department not only nourishes trainees’ passion for improving care and access to underserved populations, but also encourages us to explore why disparities exist in the first place, and work to right the many historical wrongs that have led to them. I knew UCSF would provide me with the breadth of rigorous clinical training that will allow me to care for patients across the lifespan, challenge me to become a stronger educator, and that it would create a community of trainees that is excited to provide high-quality obstetric and gynecologic care to all. I’m very grateful to be joining this community.

What I do outside of residency?

I’ve lived in the Bay Area for over ten years and I’m still constantly discovering new hiking trails. I also like exploring the food scene, enjoying SF’s parks with my friends, and spending time with my partner and our cat. Raised in Southern California, I always love going to the beach to swim or surf (which I’m pretty bad at).
