About Me

Why OB/GYN? As the daughter of immigrants, I was witness to the ways in which sociopolitical and financial forces directly impact wellness. And I also saw the ways in which my parents thrived through it all, instilling in me a deep appreciation for the privileges and opportunities I have been afforded. During medical school, my first day of obstetrics/gynecology showed me how the field uniquely blends patient-centered one-on-one interactions with societal-level perspectives, medicine with surgery, and primary care with critical care. I was hooked and never looked back!

Why UCSF? As residency is a formative period for nascent physicians, I was searching for a home wherein my peers and teachers would understand that well-being is inextricably tied to social factors of health, and are committed to addressing systemic causes of health disparities. The physicians I met at UCSF have expertise and skills in various aspects of health, but are all united by a shared mission of promoting health equity for all. Training from and among these leaders is a tremendous opportunity to grow into the type of obstetrician/gynecologist I seek to become.

What I do outside of residency? You’ll find me with family and friends—sipping Philz Coffee, traveling near and far, trying out the Bay’s ever-changing “it” eatery, exploring micro-neighborhoods, or catching up on the latest TV shows/movies/podcasts.
