About Me

Why OB/GYN?

I particularly remember learning about the framework of Reproductive Justice in one of my college anthropology classes. The framework is one of the reasons why I went into medicine, let alone OB/GYN as it intersects the institutions of medicine, law/policy, and education. The field itself is a powerful proponent of Reproductive Justice and provides me the greatest opportunities to promote and practice the principles of reproductive justice. I appreciate the breadth of OB/GYN and the fact that every day we empower women and gender non-conforming people who have been historically marginalized by the institution of medicine.

Why UCSF?

I chose UCSF because I sought a program that was rooted in anti-racist and anti-oppressive pedagogy. I desired not only excellent training but also training that reflected my own values and dedication to the community in which I live. I also chose USCF because the residents truly care for one another; and if I was going to spend the next 4 years at a program, I wanted to make sure I would be happy to call these folks my family.

What I do outside of residency?

I enjoy being in the sun, whether that is hiking, walking around the city, hanging out in the park, or going to the beach. When the sun isn’t out, I like to read (mostly non-fiction), bake (mostly cookies), and tend to my indoor plants. I also love traveling and exploring – weekend trips, camping, international trips, all of the above.
