About Me

Why Ob/Gyn?

The love, care and compassion I received from my mother, grandmothers and other important maternal figures in my life inspired me at an early age to become an Ob/Gyn. I chose to be an Ob/Gyn because it is one of the few fields in medicine that will allow me to best utilize my strengths as a physician, surgeon, researcher, public health practitioner and advocate to uplift the health, wellness and lived experiences of women, especially women of color. Additionally, the ability to be a true partner in health, providing continuity of care for women throughout their lifetime is one of the most rewarding aspect of being an Ob/Gyn and something I greatly look forward to!

Why UCSF?

During my MPH training, I was introduced to UCSF’s renowned presence and leadership in the field of sexual and reproductive health. I chose UCSF because of its unfaltering and vociferous pledge to train its residents to be “physicians and...” I am confident that this program will provide me the tools, resources and support needed to incorporate medicine, research, global and public health, social justice and advocacy to best address the needs of women, worldwide. I also chose UCSF because of its commitment to and action in the fields of family planning, reproductive justice and EDI. These components of the program resonate with me personally and professionally, and are the most special attributes of this program to me.

What I do outside of residency:

I enjoy spending time with my family and close friends. My family and I love to cook, try new recipes and spend quality time together. Additionally, I enjoy running and hiking with my partner and our dog.
