The Certified Nurse Midwifery (CNM) Service at ZSFG is celebrating 50 years as one of California’s oldest 24/7 hospital-based midwifery programs and a longstanding model for evidence-based, patient-centered care.The Nurse-Midwives of Zuckerberg San Francisco General have offered safe and person-centered care for women and families during pregnancy, childbirth, and after childbirth since 1975.

Nurse-midwives provide holistic prenatal care for low-risk pregnancies.. We arrange for the patient to be cared for by the same nurse-midwife throughout their pregnancy. This helps ensure a safe delivery of their baby at the hospital. We are proud to provide full-time, hospital-based nurse midwifery service in San Francisco.
