A gift to the Women’s Health Research Accelerator Fund gives UCSF scientists the flexibility to keep asking important questions, keep research teams together, keep studies moving forward, and help promising discoveries reach the women who need them.

Your gift can create a critical moment of progress

Image
$25k level

Bring new ideas and voices into research
Launch pilot work from an early-career scientist; engage patients and community advisors in shaping research and interpreting results; or help translate emerging evidence for policymakers and other decision-makers.

Image
$50k level

Turn a promising idea into evidence
Test an innovative idea, establish proof of concept, or help disseminate important findings so discoveries can reach broader populations.

Image
$100k level

Turn data into answers
Support the collection and analysis of research data and help investigators complete and publish findings—ensuring that knowledge contributed by study participants can advance science and care.

$150k level

Invest in people and discovery
Support the training of a postdoctoral researcher focused on women’s health or enable the collection of biomedical samples essential to understanding disease, prevention, and treatment.

$250K level

Keep breakthrough research moving
Help sustain a clinical trial through a critical funding gap or scale a successful intervention to reach new populations and communities in need.

Together, we can help ensure the next breakthrough in women’s health isn’t slowed down by a gap in funding.

Protect progress. Accelerate discovery. Advance women’s health.

For too long, women’s health has been understudied and underfunded. Today, UCSF researchers are making important advances across reproductive and maternal health, cancer, cardiovascular and neurologic disease, endometriosis, PCOS, menopause, and other conditions that affect women throughout their lives.

But promising research can be especially vulnerable when funding is delayed, disrupted, or suddenly lost.

Women’s Health Research Accelerator Fund

This fund provides flexible philanthropic support to help researchers move quickly when it matters most. It launches promising science, sustains research teams, and accelerates discoveries that can improve women’s health.

Research does not have an on/off switch. When funding disappears midstream, research staff can be lost, participants may be lost to follow-up, data can go unanalyzed, and promising studies can stall before their findings reach patients.

The Accelerator Fund helps keeps research momentum alive.

Philanthropy at a critical moment

Federal investment is essential to biomedical research, and philanthropy cannot replace it. But philanthropy can do something uniquely powerful: move quickly when a promising research program is most vulnerable or a new opportunity is ready to be tested.

Flexible support can help UCSF investigators pursue bold new ideas, sustain important studies through unexpected funding gaps, develop the next generation of women’s health researchers, and translate discoveries into better care.
