UCSF Kaiser Undergraduate Research Internship
Thank you for your interest in applying to the URI Program.
Who is this program for?
Students should be sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the fall of 2025 at UC Berkeley. You should be considering a career as a physician. We are particularly interested in the following: premed study; 1st generation to go to college; no doctors in the family or limited access to medical field mentoring. No research experience is necessary. International students on a visa are not eligible to apply.
Unfortunately, at this time, this program is not offered to students not attending UC Berkeley. Outside inquiries will not be considered for admission.
Program Structure
The summer research internships for 2025 will last for 8 weeks and require a commitment of 20 hours per week. These internships will be with research teams in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, Medicine, Pediatrics, or Anesthesia departments. Successful applicants will receive a stipend of $3,000. In addition, interns will have the opportunity to shadow clinical professionals at UCSF and will be required to attend didactic learning for an average of 4 hours per week.

- Yes, you remain eligible. You will be equally considered among all applicants for the program in subsequent years.

- Yes, an interview with faculty and alumna will be held in January/Feb 2025.
